Dirty Dozen Rankings V
Our weekly ranking of Big 12 teams. The second week of conference play is over, and we have some movement at the top.Previous week's ranking in parenthesis.
- texas: (3) Terrific upset win over Oklahoma..
- Oklahoma State: (4) Nice upset of Missouri.
- Oklahoma: (1) Says a lot about Big 12 that they're not lower.
- Missouri: (2) Still good enough to win some big games.
- Texas Tech: (5) Needed overtime to beat Nebraska.
- Kansas: (6) Solid win over Colorado.
- Nebraska: (7) Fought the good fight in loss to Tech.
- Kansas State: (8) Solid win over Texas A&M.
- Baylor: (10) Showed marked improvement in win over ISU.
- Colorado: (9) Slowly sinking to the bottom.
- Iowa State: (11) May have mailed in the season.
- Texas A&M: (12) Another week, another loss.
Notes: texas is ranked #1 in the regular season for the first time in over 20 years. Oklahoma State may be looking at another year where they will upset OU. We have a long way to go before then, though. Missouri's offense is still good enough to win games on its own; beat texas, and the loss to Oklahoma State is forgotten. Tech showed the whole world that their defense is still a joke in Lincoln. Kansas is solid, steady, and under the radar. I still don't think they are anything special. They could make some noise if they beat OU this week, but that isn't likely. Nebraska should get back into the win column after facing Iowa State. Kansas State has a winnable game against a fast-fading Colorado team. Baylor will see its conference win streak end at one. Colorado is fighting Iowa State for the worst offense in the conference. A&M sets several school records on offense, but still didn't come out with the win Saturday.Improvement is nice, but winning is always better.
