Dirty Dozen Report 33 1/3: The Smell of Fear
Third weekly ranking of conference teams. Conference play begins Saturday, so let the havoc and ranking free-fall begin. Previous week ranking in parenthesis.
- Oklahoma: (1) Destroyed TCU. Yawn.
- Missouri: (2) Expect them to beat down Nebraska.
- texas: (3) Game against Colorado poses little threat of loss.
- Oklahoma State: (4) Will win third game over A&M in Big 12 play.
- Texas Tech: (5) I'm calling the upset loss against K-State.
- Kansas: (8) Gets a de facto bye week, playing @ Iowa State.
- Nebraska: (7) Faces a stern test in Missouri.
- Colorado: (6) Loss to Florida State expected.
- Kansas State: (9) Can't stop run, but won't matter against Tech.
- Baylor: (10) Robert Griffin will get his biggest test yet against OU.
- Iowa State: (11) Only 13 days until Midnight Madness.
- Texas A&M: (12) Almost lost to Army. Are you serious?
Notes: Oklahoma is still this conference's best chance for a birth in the BCS Championship Game. Missouri will beat Nebraska for the first time in Lincoln since Jesus walked the Earth. texas' game against Colorado looked a lot more interesting in the pre-season. With injuries to their offensive line, and no real passing game to speak of, texas should win their first conference road game going away. Oklahoma State may score 70 on A&M. Texas Tech is ranked in the Top Ten, which means it is time for them to choke. Iowa State fans may begin to question their hiring of Chizik after they lose to Kansas. Nebraska fans will find out Pellini doesn't have a quick fix for their defensive problems when Missouri hangs half a hundred on them. Kansas State has no run defense, but they have enough offense to beat Tech. Baylor will find out how good Griffin is if he can lead their offense to a competitive showing against Oklahoma. Not much to say about A&M's performance against Army, except that I hope we turn the QB position over to Johnson.

BIG 12 RANKINGS
Anybody else really glad we drew CU, KSU and ISU for our North Conference opponents. As opposed to the Mizzou, Kansas and Nebraska trio we had the last 2 years.
By the rankings that the 8,9 and 11 teams vs. the 2,6 and 7 teams. WOW
It's a lot like KU the last two years
not having to face UT, OU, and Tech from the South. It’s the only reason they made a BCS bowl. This year will be different.
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.
Missouri would do unspeakable things to our defense
Some would argue they already did that last season, but we were actually able to score on them and make it a mildly entertaining game. I’m not so sure we could keep up this season.
Did anybody else notice..
That we have six ranked teams in the conference and they are each playing an unranked team….wonder if thats ever happened before. In any event, every big 12 team can be seen on the top 25 scoreboard for next week….
