Next Four Games Key

We face Iowa State, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Baylor in the next four weeks. If we avoid mistakes, stay turnover-free, and don't make stupid penalties, i.e. we don't do the things that cause you to lose games you should win, we could realistically go 3-1 over that stretch.

We don't have the firepower (or the line play) right now to play with Oklahoma, but I think we have a realistic shot at a win at Iowa State. If our kids keep believing and keep playing hard, I think we can beat them at home.

We return home to play Colorado. While they appear to have figured some things out offensively in their win over Kansas State, I still think they are beatable. A win over a Colorado program that has historically been a thorn in our side since the beginning of the Big 12 would be a nice feather in Mike Sherman's hat. The Colorado game will be the most difficult of the three games to win, in my opinion.

Our game against Baylor will be an interesting test. I can see that game becoming something of a shootout, because I'm not sure our defense will be able to control Robert Griffin, and they will be sky-high with the game in Waco. If we win that game, and the other two versus ISU and Colorado, we would be 5-6 heading into Austin to play texas. If they are still #1, it would make for a great match-up, their #1 team facing a decided underdog they haven't beaten for the last two years.

Most importantly, though, if we win three of the next four games, we will have taken another step forward as a program, showing progress in Sherman's first year. It will be visible evidence that we have this program headed in the right direction. I believe Sherman & Co. are doing a good job, and are improving this team game-by-game. A few wins never hurt anyone's confidence, though.

good points

Like you said, just keep making strides.

3-1 is obtainable, if we continue to play with a little passion.

I think a lot of our young guys will really carry the crazy energy they felt from the 12th Man on saturday. Guys like Gray and Fuller have never played in that envoirnment, hopefully it will carry over.

The 12th Man woke up on saturday and our guys fed off of it.

I agree

In fact, we should really go game by game. The biggest thing for me out of the Tech game was the turnovers. I believe the game against Kansas St would have been different had we not had those turnovers. The main thing though is we need the win badly this week and any chances of salvaging this season depends on this weeks outcome.

If we win, we pick up momentum, and have something real to play for the remaining games.

agree we need this badly

The guys played their hearts out on Saturday.

Now they need a visible reminder that such an effort can lead to a win.

"visible reminder "

i hate clinging to ‘moral’ victories , but a visible reminder would do such much to the confidence on this team.
