Gas Prices Dropping in Texas
Prices have dropped $.30 in the last week.
Why is this significant, and what does it have to do with A&M?
Fans who were on the fence about driving to College Station for football games because of gas prices can now afford to go.
Recruits who want to take non-official visits can now afford to visit.
While this drop is suspicious with its timing (right before the election, how convenient), we should enjoy it while we can.

Here's the thing about gas prices
A $0.30 drop doesn’t really effect traveling to football games. Let’s just assume that the average fan burns 30 gallons round trip (complete random number, but high enough to make a point and also doesn’t include gas mileage or whatnot):
With the recent drop in gas, they’d be only saving $9.00. I highly doubt it that a 6 buck decrease constitutes whether or not a fan will choose to travel. If that’s the case, bring pb&j sandwiches and water out of the faucet for food/drink instead of buying one drink and one hamburger during the game.
I don’t want to get too political or environmental here since it is a sports blog – so I’ll just leave it at that.
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.

you're basing that on only one trip
think about fans who travel a lot dring the week, and a decrease in prices means they can afford another tank of gas
Gas prices are around $2.19 here. That’s a huge drop-off from early September, when they were still at $3.99 per gallon.
