- Baylor is +5 in conference play in turnover margin (A&M is -3)
Given all of the above stats, it appears we will need to win this game in a shootout. We will need to take advantage of their weakness on run defense, and somehow find a rushing offense. We want to keep their offense off the field, because Robert Griffin is a dynamic player who can take over the game. Griffin's success against our defense will give their team hope that they can win this game. Winning football games is all about crushng the hope of the opposing team, destroying any hope they have of winning the game. We need to contain Griffin and force him to pass the ball to beat us. We need to force Griffin to look downfield and attempt low-percentage deep passes like he did against texas. If we allow him to nickel-and-dime us with a dink and dunk passing attack, we're in trouble. We need to run and pass the ball well enough to score a lot of points, and make them think they can't keep up. We need to beat the hope out of them.
