Tuesday Links
- Stephen McGee will play in the East-West Shrine Game in Houston on January 17, 2009. This will be another opportunity for McGee to show his stuff to pro scouts.
- Ho-hum, another week, another Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor for Adaora Elonu, her third this season. If she keeps up her current pace, she'll win Conference Freshman of the Year. Her brother, Junior Elonu, really needs to step it up, because right now it looks like he is only the second-best basketball-playing Elonu on the A&M campus.
- The women's basketball program continues to break rewards, now rising to a program-best #3 national ranking in the AP poll for the first time ever.
- Another week has passed, and we're still not ranked in either of the top 25 polls in men's basketball. This wouldn't be too much of an issue with me if I didn't see a team we've already beaten (LSU) receiving votes in one of these polls where we've received none.
- I mean no disrespect towards Missouri, but why are they ranked at 9-1, and we're unranked at 10-1?
- I normally don't worry about Top 25 polls, because everything shakes out in the Big Dance at the end of the year, but rankings can mean television appearances. More importantly, being ranked means your highlights are shown on Sportscenter, and I like watching A&M highlights.
