Men's Basketball Rankings
Here is how I see the conference teams right now
1. texas: Probably the best texas team I have seen under Rick Barnes. They play very hard on defense. Lack a true PG but they bring a lot of size off the bench. A very impressive team.
2. OU: Have the conference and probably national POY in Blake Griffin and impact freshman Willie Warren. After that, I have not seen anything all that impressive. However, they are making it work and are 8-0 with a win over a very good Davidson team.
3. KU: Probably have the best true center in the league. Lots of youth but Self is putting it together. I think that by March they will end up as a Sweet 16 team.
4. BU: 7-1 Still lack an inside game but they are running and gunning with the best of them right now. When the 3's fail to drop, they may lose to some average teams. When their four guard lineup is hitting them, BU is tough to beat.
5. OSU: Watch how Travis Ford helps transform Byron Eaton into the top PG in the conference.
6. A&M: We look very discombobulated at times. Am still not convinced we have enough shooters. Right now the product is less than the sum of the parts.
7. Nebraska: Doc Sadler's team may very well be the surprise of the league this year.
8. Missouri: I love watching Mike Anderson's team play. Teams like Mizzou, Tech, and ISU will determine how good this conference is this year.
9. Tech: Pat Knight has Tech running more this year. The question is, will they be able to stop anyone from scoring.
10. ISU: Still waiting for the second coming of Larry Eustachy.
11. KSU: The problem when you hire an AAU coach is that eventually his AAU players are going to leave or enter the NBA draft.
12. CU: I actually expected CU to be a little better this year. We will see how they progress as their season wears on. I was impressed with their coaching last year.

agree with your rankings
The only thing i might flip is A&M and OSU…but it is a toos-up.
OSU just dismissed their 6-11 starting center. They will have a tought time against teams with good front lines.
But a solid list indeed.
I can't argue with anybody...
…who doubts K-State right now, but I think we are a little better than 11th. I know this game hadn’t been played as of this ranking, but ISU lost to Drake at home. Nebraska laid a complete egg against Arizona State and appears to be offensively deficient. I think Missouri is going to surprise a lot of people this year.
K-State has played pretty well when the players have stayed within the offensive system. They’ve struggled when the players freelance and try to do too much individually. The season will depend on Martin’s ability to get the players to stay disciplined over an entire game. Contrary to popular opinion, I actually believe he is a pretty good game coach.
