Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

A welcome sight in the New Mexico victory....

One of my main concerns when Sherman & Co. assumed the reigns of the Aggie Football Program is that they would jettison the Dart/Zone Read series when they converted our offense to a pro-style West Coast scheme. After watching the New Mexico game DVD, I am happy to report we are still utilizing the zone read in our offense. Since we have the personnel to run this series (and since our players have run this series often over the past five years), I thought we should keep it in the offense. Given the fact that it is an integral part of many college offenses today, it seems foolish to field an offense that doesn't force you to defend this series. I know it isn't featured in many NFL offenses, but that is just one more reason college football is superior to the No Fun League.
