Baylor Game To Be On ESPN2

The A&M-Baylor men's basketball game will be on ESPN2 tonight at 8:30 pm Texas time. The game is preceded by the Georgetown-Syracuse game. We have to hope Syracuse-Georgetown doesn't go to overtime, so coverage of our game will start on time.

This game will be an important indicator of just what this Aggie team is made of; after an embarrassing blowout loss on the road to an average Oklahoma State team, we're facing a ranked Baylor squad at home.

Baylor has very strong guard play, but looks susceptible inside. We should be able to work the ball inside and hammer them in the post with Elonu, Davis, and Loubeau.

My only concern is that Baylor will come out with a three-guard lineup and Turgeon will respond by going small to try to match-up, and put our bigs on the bench. Basically, Turgeon will do the same thing he did last year in the 5th overtime at home after all Baylor's post players had fouled out, which ended up costing us the game.

Even though Baylor is ranked, I think we have a more talented team than they do, but I think they are a better coached team. It isn't so much that I think that Scott Drew is a good coach, because I think he is more of a recruiter than a coach, it is that I think Turgeon tends to outsmart himself and let himself be outcoached.

If A&M finds a way to win this game, we'll know we might be on our way to a successful season. If my prediction holds true and we lose to Baylor to begin the season 0-2, we'll know we're still the same mediocre team we showed ourselves to be when we lost to Oklahoma State.
