Cessna seems to think that Gresham, Bradford, and Williams returning for OU, and Shipley returning for texas bodes ill for A&M.

Maybe I'm just being ridiculously optimistic here, but I think this is good for A&M. First fo all, Colt McCoy even talking about going pro was about as valid as Larry Dibbles announcing he was coming back for his senior season; neither one of them is much of a pro prospect. Secondaly, until texas gets a running game, they are still susceptible to losing some games they shouldn't next season. Shipley returning helps, but they still have to replace Quan Cosby.

As for Oklahoma, they still need to replace four starters on the offensive line, and will have a target on their back all season long. We have to face them in Norman, but you want that kind of a challenge; it is the reason you play college football, to get a chance to measure yourself against the best and see where you stack up.

A&M will be returning record-setters at both WR positions, at RB, and at QB, but I guess Cessna doesn't want to talk about that. He talks about A&M possibly winning only six or seven games next season. Well, that is still an improvement over the 2008 season, and any improvement is progress.

Its great for the Big 12 bad for us

All those guys coming back means we are playing for fourth place in the division. OU and UT and will be 1-2 and OSU will be third while us, tech, and Baylor will be fighting for fourth. I can’t wait for the season to start, but its gonna be tough to beat those three teams.

I think McCoy will make a decent NFL QB. He already looks like a better quarterback than the Black Jesus who can’t read known as Vince Young. Its hilarious how they refuse to believe that Vince Young is not good enough and smart enough to play QB at the NFL level. They either blame the coach, offensive coordinator, or his lack of weapons at the wide receiver position. How did Kerry Collins win 13 games? But anyways McCoy looks like a 2nd or 3rd round pick for me. He is extremely accurate has a decent arm and can move around well. He ain’t no Stafford, Bradford, or Sanchez but he is just below them. He certainly will be a better QB than Tebow in the NFL.

I think UT will probably go undefeated and make it to the national championship game against Florida. Their running game is bound to go up and they were a dropped interception away from running the table last year. They will be better defensively and OU, and Tech will be down offensively.

If we don’t win 6 or 7 games than the season will be a failure.

And the winner of the 19 argh 2008 Heisman Trophy is... Sam Bradford BOOMER, BOOMER, BOOMER, BOOMER!!!!!!!

7 games should be a minimum.

Actually, 8 or 9 should be A&M’s minimum, every season, but nobody holds A&M to the standard that OU and UT holds their programs to. So, our standard is below Texas Tech, which is pathetic and disturbing.

It’s not just that simple, I understand, but there has been an extremely low standard for this team for W-L for a decade now. The whole thing needs to shift, and I honestly believe that begins with the athletic director demanding excellence. Instead, we are stuck with Bill Byrne, who for six consecutive seasons, has preached “patience.”
