54, 20, 4-6
The first number is the number of points we average against Kansas under Turgeon after 72-55 and 73-53 losses in College Station (2008) and Lawrence (2009), respectively.
The second number is the margin of victory for Kansas last night.
The third number is our overall road conference record under Turgeon: 2008 losses at Tech (68-53), Kansas State (75-54) , Oklahoma (64-37), and texas (77-50), 2009 losses at Oklahoma State (72-61) and Kansas (73-53). 2008 wins at Oklahoma State (59-56), Iowa State (69-51), Missouri (77-69), and Baylor (71-57). We have not won a conference road game in 2009.
What this means is that under Turgeon, we don't just lose when we go on the road in conference play, we get annihilated by an average of 20 points per loss. When we lose on the road, we aren't even competitive. Our loss to Kansas is par for the course when it comes to us losing on the road; we hit our average perfectly.
What this means for us as a program is that Turgeon needs to re-evaluate how we prepare, practice, and play in conference road games. For whatever reason, we are not ready to play when we travel, more often than not, and we are often humiliated if we face a halfway decent team on the road. This needs to stop, especially if we have any hopes at all of becoming an elite program.

Preparation
One thing the commentators were talking about during the game was our players’ attitude towards this game. They said they were watching all of KU’s pregame videos in a state of “awe” and when they walked in initially, some of them were taking digital photos from the court and stuff. I agree with them that this attitude seems to be way out of whack. It’s a regular season game at Kansas. It’s not the NCAA tournament, it’s not even the Big XII tourney. Stop looking at these destinations as something fun or unique like you would the NCAA tournament. It’s a game and a game you need to stop being enamored with your opponent and get some intensity.
The lack of intensity showed a lot when we came out of the gate and the score was 39-19 7:30 in to the game.

that was an exaggeration
Franklin only mentioned that b/c he and Fran Fraschilla were going off on the “tradition” and “aura” of Allen Fieldhouse before the game, and it gave Fraschilla a chance to segue into his “they need to treat this like a business trip” storyline he was hammering in the pre-game.
I can’t stand having the ‘sip Franklin do any of our games, and Fraschilla is a slightly less credible than Steve Lavin. I don’t pay attention to what either of them say regarding our team.
We weren’t ready to play, but it had nothing to do with being in “awe” of Kansas or their facility.

I think the announcers exaggerated. Turgeon obviously did not have them ready but it had nothing to do with the players being in “awe” of their surroundings. half this team was there two years ago when we beat them in their house.
