Newcomer Danielle Adams scored 24 points in her A&M debut as the Lady Ags blew out the 6th-ranked Blue Devils at Reed Arena Sunday. Adams is a juco transfer, and was the national juco player of the year last season.

Two things are remarkable to me about this performance:

1) We beat a Duke team that had already played its first game. Usually when one team is playng its second game, and the other is playing its season opener, the more experienced squad wins. There is also the issue that this was the #6 ranked team playing the #16 ranked team.

2) The distaff Aggies outscored their male counterparts, 95-88, in their respective season openers.
