Men's Basketball Defeats Clemson, 69-60
B.J. Holmes scored 20 points, and went 3-5 from behind the arc, and David Loubeau scored 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds as our bench players helped lead the Ags to a 69-60 upset of #19 Clemson. Despite Bryan Davis bewing the only starter to score in double-figures (10 points), our bench and our defense carried us to the win.
We held Clemson scoreless for the final six minutes of the first half as we built a 33-20 halftime lead. We struggled against Clemson's press and traps in the second half, leading to too many turnovers, but we never let them get closer than three points.
This was a nice win for our program, a win that helps out strength of schedule, and will help come Tournament time in March. It is always good to win on the road, even though this was at a neutral site.
We face West Virginia in the semi-finals of the 76 Classic at approximaltey 3:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Big win for Turge and co. Did not expect to win this one.

I don’t want to criticize an early season victory over a ranked team too much, but the turn overs could have sunk the Ags, and I saw some poor shooting in the second half. Some of that was probably Clemson’s defense, but some of those missed free throws could have come back to haunt A&M. Hoping A&M has pre-conference upset #2 in them when they face WVU.
