Obviously Following Sergio Kindle's Fine Senior Leadership...
t-sip true freshman defensive back Marcus Davis was kicked off the team for the remainder of the season after he posted bail and was released from jail in Pearland on two charges - driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance. I guess he is tired of these incidents following the D.J. Monroe arrest, because Mack Brown has cracked down, saying the freshman will not be allowed to participate in any team activities involving the Big 12 Championship or any bowl game, pending completion of his case. This is actually hitting this kid where it hurts, because if he isn't allowed to be a part of the team during these times, he isn't being rewarded for all of his hard work during the season to this point, and he doesn't get to experience what should be the most fun part of the year, the Big 12 Championship Game and the bowl game.
If only Marcus knew enough to follow the example set by his senior leader, Sergio Kindle, and claim he was 'texting' while driving.
Davis has four tackles on the season, including a sack and TFL against Wyoming, so he wasn't a complete non-contributor.

Your personal vendetta against Kindle is so cute.
God help us all if Aggie jurisprudence was actually enforced.

It is not a personal vendetta. It is a rivalry so we are going to poke fun at your athletes missteps. The fact that your HC insists on claiming that one of the bigger buffoons in your program (Kindle) is a leader just makes it easier

buffoon? your diction is quite… old school.

also, even leaders make mistakes, see George Bush

A leader and a person in a position of leadership are not synonymous.

a leader and a person voted into office for his leadership qualities by a nation are obviously not synonymous….
if you think that every leader is immaculate, you’re a fool.

No
I’m saying that a person in a position of leadership isn’t necessarily a leader and a person who is a leader may not be in a position of leadership. Presidents have recently been elected by about half a nation and definitely not for their ‘leadership’

Did you notice how much PB and Co.
made fun of the Scales incident? It has nothing to do with rivalry, and everything to do with Beergut being 12. But that’s ok, I’m 12 too when it comes to this stuff. I just think it’s funny that the guy you and Gut have chosen to pick on wasn’t charged with anything. I mean, it’s not like there is a shortage of Texas players who actually break the law.
by ctex80 on Dec 1, 2009 7:53 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
That's because
PB and BON and every other longhorn really doesn’t care what happens to aggy. Sure we come on here to be entertained by ass-backward thought processes, but it is just one more example of how aggy is obsessed with Texas
by prince8846 on Dec 1, 2009 1:16 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
that is probably b/c Scales is a redshirt freshman who has never played a down for A&M
while your players who are screwing up are all people who are contributors, at the very least.
This is also probably because y’all don’t have any room to show stones, since your program seems to exist in Emerald City.
by Beergut on Dec 1, 2009 6:16 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, the difference between you and the BON crew is
the level of contribution of the offending players. Ok. Sure. See Mike’s comment below about denial.

I think the denial of most sips to be the most humorous part of this incident
by miketag on Dec 1, 2009 9:01 PM CST via mobile up reply actions 0 recs
An Aggie lecturing on denial is comical.
And what are we denying? Monroe and Davis screwed up and were punished accordingly. I know you’d love to see Kindle punished for a car accident, but it’s not happening.
by ctex80 on Dec 1, 2009 9:21 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I think he is referring to the refusal of 'sips to believe
that Kindle was drunk and driving that night, when everyone with any grasp of reaity knows he was.

Here's my problem with you, Gut...
You state as fact things that you cannot, in any way, shape, or form, prove. You don’t know shit about what happened that night. You think that Kindle was drinking. I think he probably was too. But I don’t know that, and neither do you.
So of course the Texas position is to give him the benefit of the doubt, because no one can prove he did anything illegal, and he’s one of our own. And of course the Aggy position is to assume that he was, because he plays for your rival. The difference is, no Texas fans are saying “I know that Kindle was not drinking that night”. And if they are, they’re fucking idiots.
The reason bloggers get a bad rap is for things like this. You spout off inflammatory rhetoric about a person that you’ve never met, claiming not only to “know” things that you clearly don’t, but also that anyone who disagrees with you “has no grasp of reality”. It’s bullshit like this that undermines all of the good work that you do.
All I’m saying is that, in my personal opinion, if you want to be remembered as anything other than “the guy who never capitalizes Texas”, then you should probably reconsider your general approach. There’s a reason it’s just you and Mike on all of those game threads: you don’t facilitate conversation, but rather proclaim as fact your opinions, and belittle those who disagree with you. It is sad to see, and it is a waste of your considerable talents. But what do I know, I’m just another t-shirt sip fan, in denial, without any grasp of reality.
Peace.

What makes you think beergut wants to be remembered at all? Guess I live in a different world than you do because I do not se too many bloggers getting a bad rap. I think blogs offer the best instantaneous access to news anywhere. Blogs are killing newspapers because of our impatient society.
None of us were in the car with Kindle that night. However, his actions immediately following the accident lead any rational person to believe that he was doing something other than simply texting. The sips who continually point out that no charges were filed so he must be innocent are the ones who make me laugh.
I have never met Kindle. He is a friend of a friend of mine. My friend said that he was out drinking. Course, he was not in the car with him either. The bottom line is that Kindle probably cost himself a round or two in the draft by his actions. So it goes.
by miketag on Dec 2, 2009 12:30 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
you think he’ll go in the 3rd round? really? hell, since most of your ags think he’s a 2nd round selection to begin with, I guess make that the 4th round.

Kindle
Beergut, good post re. Kindle. All in good fun I suppose. Do you have time to poke some of your good funny fun fun at the following proud Ags: junior OL Matt Allen and his recent arrest for DWI, assoc. prof. Douglas Dorman (he turned himself in on charges of child porn), OL Yemi babalola and DE Brandon Joiner and their arrests of agravated robbery, and OL Rhontae Scales and his arrest on assault charges? Remember, it’s all in good fun. I’d blog more good fun about these guys but I’m getting ready for the Big XII Championship game. How about you? What bowl are you Ags going to? I just received a failing grade on my thesis paper here at UT. I was tasked to come up with stats and all concerning “Excellence in the Modern Era of Texas A&M Football.” Although I came up with many opinions concerning how great and fabulous are the football teams through the years at A&M, I just couldn’t come up with any recent Heisman winners or National Championships in football. I figured there’d be many of all these as all the Ags I know always say their football team is better than “tu” and all. BTW, is “tu” a fictional school to Ags? I couldn’t find it anywhere. Oh well, I asked the prof. and he allowed me to redo my thesis substituting Univ of Texas for Texas A&M. Wow, my prof was impressed with my new report and I passed with flying (burnt orange) colors. But, one calculation caught my eye as I did my research on the Aggy Experience in football: Aggy would have to win the next 40 games against UT for the Aggy to pull even with them in the series. Wow! Now that’s a stat. But, take heart dear beergut aggy, it’s not as long since Aggy has had a heisman winner (52 years). This is all for now. Oh wait, one more thing: can you tell me why Jerrod didn’t do so well in the K-State and OU games? It seems that a QB better than say, Colt McCoy of UT, wouldn’t take any games off. But, you aggys always say every year that your football team, no matter the truth, is better than UT’s football team. Wow, I love this. Did you get this line of reasoning from watching the OJ trial? Cheers! Have fun watching UT this Saturday. Until later, see ya aggy.

Maybe you can explain to me why JJ made your defense his bitch. Or why our HC chooses not to praise the leadership of any of the aforementioned players to the media. Maybe you can do a statistical analysis of why your defense isn’t ranked number one in the country anymore. Yeah, we are all so jealous that we didn’t have a hypesman winner in ’98 like your pothead. He ranks right up there with Gino Torretta. Maybe you should spend more time preparing for that conference title game rather than hanging out on this blog, lest someone Begin to think you are obsessed with A&M.

This is just a little ridiculous
No one really knows what happened with Kindle that night. If he was out drinking and got behind the wheel, and got away with it, then he’s stupid (and young) but lucky. If he was texting and driving as he claimed, that was pretty foolish but everyone makes mistakes. I don’t really think that being not-charged with a crime is going to cost anyone position in the draft.
I guess if the goal is to razz Texas fans over something, mission accomplished. It seems fairly inconsequential though. It’d be one thing if Kindle had been arrested for driving drunk, but he wasn’t. It seems a little juvenile to continue to bring it up. To be perfectly honest, we A&M fans have very little that we can even say to Texas fans, given each teams recent records.
If BG truly is trolling, why are any Texas fans feeding the flames? In terms of internet stupidity, feeding a troll is quite a lot dumber than trolling itself.
One thing I’ve found for certain in this rivalry, both sides sure love to sling fallacies back and forth at one another. Your logic professors would be ashamed.
by ambivalent on Dec 2, 2009 9:04 AM CST reply actions 1 recs
not sure if you are aware of this
but Kindle was already arrested for driving drunk earlier in his career at texas
That is what made this incident so damning.
