Houston And Navy Or Shreveport And Auburn?

(Update: Auburn will play in the Outback Bowl, so if we are invited to Shreveport, we will face some other SEC opponent.)

The conventional wisdom seems to be that we will either be headed to Houston for a Texas Bowl matchup with Navy on New Years Eve, or to Shreveport for an Independence Bowl game with Auburn. If we play on New Years Eve, we'll be muddled in there with some other bowl games on television, while the Independence Bowl on December 28 would give us a national television audience. Playing Navy in Houston would give us a better chance of a bowl win than playng Auburn in Shreveport, though.

Which bowl would you rather we play in?

Houston would be more of a home game and I do not like the match up of Gus Malzahn against our defense. We have already won because we are going to get an extra month of practice.

Sadly

I just want to win, we haven’t won a bowl game since the early 90’s I believe. A win would put us in a good place for next year. We need a win, not a quality win.

last bowl win was 2001

over TCU in the galleryfurniture bowl.

The last true Wrecking Crew defense shredded TCU, and led us to victory despite the fact that we had no offense whatsoever that season (thank you, Dino Babers).

wow

I thought it was a lot longer than that. Still, that was a couple of coaches and recruiting classes ago.

Auburn got selected by a different bowl. Looks like we may end up facing Georgia in the Independence Bowl.
