Debauchery And Hedonism Tour - Day 1

The Aggies have arrived in Shreveport, and the locals are nervous. After leaving Dallas at ~3:45, the I Am The 12th Man crew arrived in Shreveport at around a quarter til 7. We had dinner at a local joint, Sue's Country Kitchen Family Restaurant, which may be home to the smallest salads in the world. The food was decent, though. Following dinner, we drove to the Horseshoe Casino to commence gambling, drinking, carousing, and general debauchery. At the Hoseshoe, the Aggies had already taken over, easily outnumbering Georgia fans by a 20:1 ratio. If the crowds in the casinos are any indicator, we should have a sizable crowd advantage tomorrow at the Independence Bowl.

At the Horseshoe, the crew hit up the craps pit, and began our attack on the casino's cash holdings. Along with one particular Georgia fan, we did a fairly nice job of covering the felt with chips, and taking the casino's money. We played for about five hours, and walked away from the table having significantly increased our bankroll. The only glitch in us creating an atmosphere of general debauchery was the drink service; the craps dealers told us they didn't expect such a large crowd to come in for the game, so they didn't have enough waitresses assigned to work the floor. As we explained to the pit crew, the same situation happened in 1999 when we went to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl, and Bourbon Street wasn't prepared for the Aggie crowd. We told them to prepare for every football game involving the Aggies by stocking up on alcohol, because we'll drink it all. The lack of drink service at the pit was somewhat disappointing, because as we pointed out to one of the dealers, we were much too sober to make an irrational and impulsive bet that would let the casino win their money back. Even ordering drinks in threes and fours didn't help the situation.

We will return to the Horseshoe tomorrow to continue our onslaught on the casino. As per usual, there will be a live gamethread up for the Independence Bowl, and then we will have our report for Day 2 up.
