Mike Leach Fired

Guess Tech decided not to prolong the inevitable and cost themselves an extra $800,000. Now they avoid paying Leach the bonus and they expedite a process that was going to lead to his removal sooner or later. After the drawn out contract negotiations over the off season, you had to see this coming when the mistreatment allegations surfaced. It will be interesting to see who Tech goes after as their HC. One would assume they would contact Briles at Baylor. Kevin Sumlin would probably their best choice but I am not sure he wants to leave Houston for the 3rd best job in Texas. It should get interesting. My best is that Leach ends up coaching a D2 team until a West Coast team (Washington State) takes a flier on him.
