Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

Debauchery And Hedonism Tour - Day 3 - The Finale

Most of the crew woke early and went to breakfast, while our fearless leader slept in, preparing to go out in a blaze of glory at the casino. After checking out of our hotel at noon, we headed back to the Horseshoe to make one final attempt at bringing the house down. Unfortunately, one member of the crew decided to bet big because it was their last day in Shreveport, and they took back all of his winnings and then some. The dice were cruel that day, my friends. One of our other crew members bet judiciously with his money, and left with a nice chunk of the casino's money still in his pocket. The other half of our crew left Shreveport early in the morning to get home ahead of the traffic.

We left the casino a little after 2 PM and headed back to Dallas. We stopped at Bodacious Barbecue in Kilgore for a late lunch, and were back in Dallas just before 6 PM. We arrived in time to get hit with the snow flurries that were making driving exciting. We were inside our front door before 6 PM.

Overall tally: Half the crew came back from Shreveport with more money than they left with, we lost one crew member temporarily to some Georgia dirty leg, but recovered him, one football game viewed and digested, and an overall decent time was had by all. Not a bad trip.

Shreveport doesn't currently have the staffing personnel to handle a crowd the Aggies bring to a bowl game, but they won't have to worry about that next year, when SEC and Big 12 no longer have a representative coming to their bowl game. The service at the casinos left a lot to be desired, but that was more because of staffing deficiencies and poor planning than it was just general incompetence. Shreveport seems to be a decent place to visit and gamble for one night, but anything more than that is stretching it.

Let's hope

for a better bowl/location next season. Or more importantly, a WIN!

We will go to a better bowl next year and we will win. I cannot wait to see how good Christine Michael will look after a year in the off season program.
