Ndamukong Suh Should Win The Heisman Trophy
I don't have a vote on the Heisman Trophy, which is probably a good thing, because there are too many years I would have browbeat and then ridiculed my fellow voters for such stellar choices as Eric Crouch and Gino Toretta for the Trophy. Not having a vote won't stop me from offering my opinion on who should win the Trophy for best player in college football this season, though.
After the 2009 season, Ndamukong Suh has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is the best player in college football. After thirteen games, Suh leads his team with 82 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, 1 interception, 10 passes broken up, 24 quarterback hurries, 1 forced fumble, and 3 blocked kicks. Suh has accomplished this despite often being double and triple-teamed by opposing offensive lines. That is complete domination by any measure, and that is with opposing offensive lines and offensive coordinator scheming their gameplan around avoiding you on every play.
In the Big 12 Championship Game, facing texas' supposed Heisman candidate Colt McCoy, Suh had 12 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and 1 quarterback hurry. Suh pretty much destroyed McCoy's candidacy all by himself. McCoy's three interceptions in the game can be traced to intimidation and, in the case of his first quarter interception, prophetic visions of the beating that was to come.
Suh is without a doubt the best player in college football this season, and the most dominating defensive tackle to come out of college this millenium. If the Heisman is truly about recognizing the best player in college football, it would go to Suh. Since the Heisman is pretty much required to go to an offensive player, Mark Ingram, the running back from Alabama who helped lead his team to an upset win over Florida in the SEC Championship Game, will probably win the award.
True college football fans, however, know who the best player in the game is this season, and he wears #93 for Nebraska.

Colt is a misfire !!
Suh owned McCoy. If McCoy is Heisman material Charlie Manson should be the American Ambassador to the Virgin Islands. Since the Heisman voters would never consider a defensive lineman then the trophy needs to go to Mark Ingram.
You sound reasonable... Time to up the medication.
Oh, I get it.
You misunderstand me. Charlie Manson for Ambassador is just an idiotic pairing of random items.
Here’s how Sandhill’s thought process played out, I’m guessing:
Charlie Manson = Bad Guy. Bad guys shouldn’t be Ambassadors. Ambassador to where? How about the Virgin Islands!!
But there’s no connection between Charlie Manson and the Virgin Islands. That’s why it makes no sense.
I’ll give you guys some help: Colt McCoy for Heisman makes about as much sense as an Aggie for a Nobel Prize. See what I did? I drew a parallel between McCoy’s inferior football ability compared with other Heisman candidates and Aggies’ inferior mental capacity compared with other Nobel candidates. It’s both funny and correct. No need to thanks me.
Except
An Aggie has a nobel prize and mccoy has no heisman.
When I was in school at A&M we had 3 Nobel Prize winners on the faculty. I think one passed away so we now only have 2.

This makes no sense.
IT MAKES ABOUT AS MUCH SENSE AS MCCOY WINNING THE HEISMAN
The point of this article
Is that Suh should win the Heisman, not that Daniel McCoy shouldn’t. Suh had the best year of any individual in cfb. The man was a beast. Ole Danny Boy managed to lead his team to a 13-0 record which is probably a more impressive feat than any individual accomplishment, but he hardly did it by himself. The Heisman is about an individual body of work over the course of a single season. It is not supposed to be about how one’s team winds up or what a player did over his career.
BG, I Hear You
I know that you and fellow Aggies can’t help but have your slant against much hated tu, and I forgive you for that.
I wish that loathesome greg davis (you see what I did there?) would’ve game planned better. What he perpetrated Saturday was absolutely inexcusable, and I am certain that anyone else with a modicum of football knowledge could’ve made adjustments and called it better.
That being said N’DonkeyKong is the best freaking college football player this year. Much like hated vince young trounced everyone and singlehandedly won football games, Suh trashed the tu offense by himself. Sure, he had help, but he made the magic happen. It was telling that a team with five first downs was a gnat’s ass hair away from winning a football game.
In fact, look that one up. Tell me the last time a team with that poor a yardage total or only five first downs won. That should tell you what impact that monster had on the game. I’m so glad that I never have to see him again in college ball.
hmmmm

You didn’t watch Vince’s game against A&M in ’05, did ya? ;-)
Not Greg Davis’ fault. He has helped y’all win 13 games without a running game. He has done an amazing job all things considered

Suh is without a doubt the best college football player I saw this year.
Absolutely deserving of the Heisman, especially in a year when no offensive player ran away with it. Even as a Texas fan, I’m more than happy to admit that McCoy doesn’t deserve the award. Don’t even really care if he’s invited to NY. He just wasn’t as good this year as he was last year, period. Just hoping that we’re able to console ourselves with an MNC.
hehe
I am certain that you and every other Texas fan would give up any awarded and potential individual awards for a MNC. At the end of the day, an award really doesn’t do much for a school or their sports programs.
Colt McCoy Heisman.............I think not
Ndamukong Suh single handily destroyed any hope or chance Colt had for the Heisman and I also truly believe that Brown and the Texas “O” line and staff were in such fear of Suh that they openly tried to take him out of the game right at the start with Hall attempting a Chop Block not once but twice which to me just proves how deserving Suh is of the Heisman all Texas did was fuel the beast and NU’s def showed they came to play and yes our “O” line was less than impressive but that just goes to show how well the UT defensive line is but on that note let me say we did not resort to trying to take out your linemen and try ending there careers like Hall did Suh! Face it Suh and the rest of the NU def line had their way with you they had Colt and the rest of the UT “O” line running scared all night long…………..bottom line is yes you beat Nebraska but we made you guys look like a bunch of noobs on the field and Suh……………….well lets just say I don’t think your precious Colt will be winning a Heisman anytime soon.
Pardon Me
If my comments got your panties in a bunch their littlelonghorngirl that was not my intent. If you would scroll up my comment was not questiong whether or not UT beat us it was a comment stating that not only did Suh………and the other NU def line make the Texas offense look like noobs but we did not try to do anything outside the scope of the game to injur Colt or any other players on the Texas line like Hall did to Suh and as far as the 110 yrds of offense we had, how many yards did Texas get on offense oh yeah it was something like 202yds right and Colt McCoy, who’d never been sacked more than four times, was taken down nine times, 4 1/2 by Ndumakong Suh. The abuse dazed the winningest QB in college football history, prompting him into making a bunch of freshman mistakes— including the nearly costly flub of letting time run out. so just let me say I did not imply that NU beat Texas I only stated that we did nothing to try to injur your players unlike what your players did to Suh out of fear so please read it through next time before commenting thank you and by the way its better to be thought of as ignorant than to open one’s mouth a remove all doubt.
