Von Miller's Weight Not An Issue
This article has me breathing a little easier:
Although listed at 6-3 and 214, Miller said he's about 230 pounds this spring. Miller guarantees that he'll be pushing 240 next season.
At between 230-240, Miller will be the perfect size to switch between DE and OLB when we move from a 4-3 to the 3-4 scheme.
No more nightmares about a TE in motion coming down to double-team Miller with the OT, and the defense being gashed by runs off-tackle play after play.
Defensive coordinator Joe Kines has been pleased with Miller's progress this off-season:
"He's very quietly gone about getting better," Kines said. "I'm so proud of him. It's daylight and dark from last year. Last year, he would flash brilliance and have a problem or two. He's been so steady."
Miller had 44 tackles, 7.5 TFL, and 3.5 sacks last season; if he can double all of those numbers from his new position this season, he will be an all-conference player, and receive some All-American consideration.
