BREAKING NEWS: 2008 Big XII Champions*

Due to the top notch blogging here at I Am The 12th Man.com, texas coach Mack Brown has said that this "mistake" will be corrected, according to the DMN

Basically, they got caught trying to pull a fast one.

Bless you, 24-hour news cycle.

Can you imagine if any other school did this after they won a Big XII Championship? They would claim "male anatomy" envy and never let the other fanbase live it down.

I understand holding up signs and wearing t-shirts that say "45-35" or whatever, but this has been cleared by people within the athletic department, including Mack Brown.

I hope some recruit calls them out on this. Pathetic.

Why not just claim the national title while they ate at it?

I remember..

.doing that there were Tech shirts, that read something like “11-1 Best Season Ever…Big 12 South Champs” I’m not saying that Texas should claim a title they didn’t “win”, but I’m just pointing to the fact the three teams all had a share of the Big 12 South title.

this wasn't a t-shirt...

it was prominently displayed in their athletic facilities.

there’s a difference in some student screen printing a t-shirt and the athletic department using funds for the wall lettering.

Tech tied for a share of the Big 12 South title

they were co-champions, along with texas and OU

I believe all three received Big 12 South division champion trophies.

Tech isn’t trying to claim they won a game they didn’t even play in!!!

The sips still claim the ’94 SWC title when 5 teams tied for second so them claiming the South title last year would not surprise me. Them claiming the Big 12 title is completely different.
