Lone Star Showdown

Now, I understand the divisions.  There are ags and horns who don't care about this at all and there are those that place it at the top of their list.  Of course, it probably depends on if their team actually wins.  I'm of course talking about the Lone Star Showdown

WIth three events left (Baseball, outdoor track(mens), and outdoor track(womens); UT leads by one point.  However, A&M is ranked higher in both men and womens outdoor track.  Assuming we win both of the track events, that puts us ahead by one point.

If we do win both track events, that will guarantee us the victory.  Winning the baseball series counts as one point, but, in the case of a tie the winner from last season(A&M) simply keeps the trophy.  That means that even if we get swept in baseball, we win the tie!

In other words, start rooting for the Big 12 Outdoor Track Championships in Lubbock May 15-17

I'll be honest

it matters to me if we beat them in football.

The Lone Star Showdown is just a way to get people to care about minor sports.

I want to beat texas in every sport we play them in, but I really don’t care if we win this trophy or not.

agree

Football is king in Texas, but it would be nice to have that on the back burner when they start aggressively announcing their sports dominance.

Looks like we are two and a half pointsdown with only two possible points left
