Corey Nelson Commits To A&M
I'll let miketag comment on this more fully, but needless to say, this is a very nice pickup for Sherman.

2010 Recruiting Class
got a lot better with Nelson’s commitment. This is a top 10, possibly top 5 class.
I’m incredulous that this LB pickup propels A&M into the top 10 recruiting classes. Nelson is obviously an excellent pickup, but a few more players need to be added, and a few players star ratings (on Rivals and Scout) elevated before A&M really cracks the top 10. Still, that we’re even having a discussion of A&M possibly being close to a top 10 class is remarkable given the performance of the team the past few seasons.
I would like to remark that there’s really no reason to denigrate A&M’s (nor any other team’s) recruiting effort. Clearly Texas owns the top recruiting class for 2010 and it will likely remain that way through signing day. Why bash A&M’s efforts in recruiting of all things? Let it play out on the field – until then it’s all hypothesis.
grats on the grab, but no way that’s going to bump A&M into top 10. your 6 NR aren’t going to do so well. nelson will be your christine michael of this year, only nelson was highly recruited…

Much like the Christine Michael commit of last year, the Nelson commit sends a message to everyone that A&M and Mike Sherman will be a player on the national level. Nelson is the consensus #1 LB in the state, and a huge get at a need position. I will go on record that I want Shaun Lewis more than any other LB in this class and hope we still land him. Hopefully, Nelson and Patterson can open up a Skyline pipeline for us. As for the sips who commented about class rank, I could really care less. As long as we recruit speed I am happy. FYI, Jake Matthews-if we land him-would be a more apt comparison to Christine Michael IMO.

is he another 5* who’s apparent issues will cause every top program to stop recruiting him except A&M halfway through his senior year?
you’re right, a fast, small, lowly ranked class is better than being nationally recognized as quality.

Please do tell. What issues did Michael have that made everyone stop recruiting him, as you claim? The guy is such a bad apple he was elected team captain at the Army All America game by his peers.
I’ll take small and fast every day over big and slow. Who would you rather have in college, David Aaron or Santana Moss?

Still waiting, how was Michael not highly recruited?

Typical sip
Makes an outlandish claim on the web, then runs and hides when he’s called on it. You need to go back to hornfans and join the others trying to propagate the myth that Stoops and Slocum recruited Vince Young as a WR, while mack brown recruited him as a RB and Reggie McNeal as a WR. If you repeat it enough times maybe someone will believe it.
