Aggie Recruit Chris Henderson Plays In Junior World Championship
Chris Henderson, a 6'3, 280 lb DT out of Dallas Carter, represented the United States and Texas A&M this past week at the Junior World Championship in Ohio. The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) held the inaugural Junior World Championship this past week in Canton, Ohio, and players under the age of 19 came from all over the country to play for Team USA. Team USA won the gold medal game today, defeating Canada 41-3.
I haven't been able to find any box score for the game, so I'm not sure how Henderson played.
The U.S. team's complete domination of their competition this past week didn't surprise me, although I am curious as to why we were the #2 seed while Canada was the #1 seed. I know we didn't send the very best of the best out to Canton (otherwise we'd probably be seeing Baylor's Robert Griffin out there at QB, and Team USA would have broekn triple digits in scoring every game), but football is America's game. This isn't hockey; we should have been seeded ahead of Canada, and the game today proved that.
