Scouting The Under Armour AA Game

Finally got around to watching my DVR of the Under Armour All American Game. I focused on the A&M commits. You cannot tell a lot from these games since the teams have only been together for a week. Normally defenses dominate and offenses, and QB play in general suffer. I have been impressed with how the Under Armour game has improved the talent of the game and moved inside into a dome. The Ags had two commits in the game (Luke Joeckel and Corey Nelson) and a recruits who committed during the game in Toney Hurd Jr. All three had their moments and appear to be fine additions to the '10 class.

Star-divide

Luke Joeckel moved around from LT to RT during the game. He spent most of his time at RT. I was very impressed with his pass blocking. I had heard a lot about his mean streak and how he was a mauler in the trenches so I expected him to be a good run blocker. He showed good feet in pass pro. With Joeckel participating in spring practice, I will be shocked if he is not at least the backup at RT to start the season. He has that kind of ability. I expect Stephen Barrera to start at RT, but Joeckel to give him a run for his money in the spring.

Corey Nelson played OLB for the black team. He simply showed on the field what he has been showing everyone the past two years at Skyline. He has no wasted motion, and just runs to the football. Pass defense is supposed to be his weakness right now, but I thought he showed well. Nelson simply runs to the ball as fast as anyone on the field, and makes the tackle. I know there has been some discussion from the coaches about starting out Nelson in the middle. I think he is the perfect OLB for the 3-4 scheme and should see action behind Garrick Williams in the fall.

Toney Hurd Jr. gave the Ags recruitng rankings a boost when he committed to A&M during the game. Maybe Hurd's most impressive stat is his class rank of number 4 as his high school. Hurd announced his physical presence to the country with a nice hit in the 3rd quarter. He showed good football speed which alleviated my greatest concern about him. I could have done without the taunting after the hit, but Hurd's class rank shows me that he has brains. We just need to work on his judgment on the football field a bit. Corey Nelson can help him with that.

Overall, all three players showed very well in this game. They all looked like they belonged and should make an immediate impact on our team and program.

I would be remiss if I did not mention two t-sip recruits who impressed me in the game. WR recruits Mike Davis and Darius White both had great game. White was much quicker than I expected, especially for a kid who is 6'4. White appeared gangly at times, but had a 35 yd punt return for a TD. When you are 6'4 and make the opposing team look like they are standing still with your quickness, that is impressive. Mike Davis is simply a special WR. He had a TD reception in the game when he went up over the DB in the back on the endzone and hauled in a pass in the 3rd quarter. tu is bringing in a very nice WR class with these two.

If I hear another Big XII fan HYPE your lousy conference, I’ll PUKE. Big XII Big XII Big XII BS

I knew you would NOT be back in here after all your B.S. about the Big XII SEC 6-0 in BCS National Championships Games, including 3-0 vs. the Big XII.

That includes both last year and this year SEC over Big XII in the BCS NC Game.

Hype about the Big XII.

Texas, now that the season is over beat not 1 team who beat a Final AP Poll Top 25 team. There is Nebraska who beat NO ONE.

Big XII in BCS National Championship Games HAS BEEN THE WORSE and now you are incredibly HORRIBLE.

Big XII in BCS National Championship Games is 2-5. (SEC 6-0.)

Who the hell do you think is better ?

For the record, Texas could not stop Mark Ingram or Richardson as both gained over 100 yards rushing.

Texas, on the other hand, in dire need of a running game (or 1 win against any good team who actually beat someone in the Final AP Poll Top 25), could not run at ALL against Alabama.

The Beat goes on, and I am quite certain this BLOG will go on with the HYPE of the Big XII.

If I hear another Big XII fan HYPE your lousy conference, I’ll PUKE.

i think this guy is great

this guy is obviously a complete fuck-tard who is rather amusing to read. i personally like how in his posts, he skips a space between each sentence.

(example)

then at other times he doesnt, even when both sentences pertain to the same point.
i’m also a big fan of the dumbass stats he posts, specifically all the 40yd times he posted, thereby proving the sec was faster than the big 12…..classic!!!!! keep em coming mr.brown!….. for your next post i suggest listing the heights of sec players, thereby proving how great the sec is

Nothing ?

No response ?

Not 1 ?

0-3 Big XII vs. SEC in BCS National Championship Games, All-Time.

2-5 Big XII in BCS National Championship Games, All-Time.

6-0 SEC in BCS National Championship Games, All-Time.

0-3 Big XII vs SEC in Bowl Games 2009-2010.

0-3 Big XII vs SEC in Bowl Games 2008-2009.

Those are NOT stats.

Those are called football games, head-to-head. No wonder not one of can come up with a single response.
