Terrific Weekend For The Aggies
After spending a weekend out of town without Internet access, I just have to say that it is good to be back online. We had plenty of good things happen for the Aggies over the weekend, as the baseball team started the season off 3-0 with a home sweep of Seton Hall, and the men's basketball team took down Iowa State in Ames, 60-56. The women's basketball team had a decisive 58-44 home win over texas, giving us another sweep over the distaff 'sips, and our seventh win in a row over over them. Women'ssoftball swept through the Aggie Classic, going 5-0, moving their record to 10-1 on the season so far. It was a good weekend to be an Aggie sports fan.
Moving on to this week, the softball doubleheader with SFA tomorrow has been postponed, as has the baseball game with SFA. The baseball game has been moved to Wednesday. Women's basketball plays at Baylor tonight in a game that will be featured on ESPN2. The men's basketball team has a key game in Waco against Baylor on Wednesday; we're already a lock for the Big Dance with 8 wins in conference, but a few more conference wins would help get us a solid seed. After our close loss to Kansas and our road win over Iowa State, we moved up in the polls from #24 to #22 and #23, respectively. Baylor is ranked #24 in the AP poll, so a win in Waco would be a win on the road over a ranked team, which would be another feather in our cap. Hopefully we'll be able to notch a few more wins in all sports and make it an enjoyable week, too.
