Thoughts On Oklahoma State Win
- First of all, you always want to win on Senior Night, so kudos to the Ags for getting it done.
- With the win over OSU, the Aggies move to 10-5 in conference play. This means that for the second consecutive year, our conference record has improved under Turgeon. We were 8-8 in conference in 2006-07, 9-7 in 2007-08, and can only finish at 10-6 at worst this season. Steady improvement is always a good thing, but this is especially remarkable given everything this team had to go through.
- This was a quality win, no two ways about it. This is the same Oklahoma State team that beat Kansas, so they're no slouches.
- I'm kind of surprised Ray Turner received so little playing time. I know State tries to go small most of the game with a four-guard lineup, but that is all more the reason we should let Turner get more minutes on the court. He can run with those guys, and he would have given us another inside presence to abuse them with. More importantly, we're going to need Turner to team with David Loubeau next year in the frontcourt, so the more minutes we get Turner now, the more experience he has next season.
- I am a little disappointed we weren't able to sell this game out, especially since students were allowed in free.
- I was happy to see The Midget Assassin™, B.J. Holmes, return to action. I was worried J'Covan Brown's out-of-control play might have cost us a player, but it appears other than Brown being exposed for being a drama queen, no harm was done.
