NFL Draft Thoughts
Am glad the 'Boys finally stepped up and did not draft scared. Dez Bryant was a great pick and should help immediately.
I need to give the NFL scouts/coaches some credit. They did not select Sergio Kindle in the first round. I do not think he will have a significant career in the NFL. When he was a senior in HS, I said that he will be a first round pick at MLB unless tu screws him up. Well, tu screwed him up. tu did not make him drive into an apartment building, but IMO they should have kept him at MLB.
Colt McCoy will be a 2nd round pick. I think he will be a career backup unless he goes to a truly crappy team.
I still do not understand why Lamarr Houston was not a 1st round pick. The guy makes plays and plays hard every down. He ran a good 40. He and Jordan Shipley will be steals.
The state of Oklahoma produced 3 first round picks (Bradford, McCoy, and Gresham). Not bad for a state that supposedly cannot produce D1 talent.
Cowboys need to go get a LT and a CB now.
Never heard of the guy that Jacksonville drafted.
I said last year that Tebow would be a first round pick. Surprised after the senior bowl that it ended up that way though. Happy for him b/c I think he is a good guy.
How mad is Taylor Mays that he stuck around for his senior year?
How mad are Jimmy Claussen and Golden Tate that they listened to the agents and declared?
Hard to believe that no player from USC, Ohio State, or Miami was drafted in the first round.
Steal of the first round? Ndamukong Suh at #2.

something interesting of note, rumor going around is kindle has narcolepsy… although it’s not being tied to his driving accident, it’d be interesting to think that he wasn’t drunk, wasn’t texting, but literally fell asleep at the wheel.

Which would make you wonder why he exclaimed, “I ruined my life.” after exiting the vehicle. He was driving drunk and knew it. The Texas media may overlook it, but the NFL scouts will not. He is not an impact player on the field and he has character issues. I was surprised so many in the media had him rated so high.

If you ran into a building, and you have little money (as of the time of the accident), and your a very public figure, don’t you think you’d be worried about the potential ramifications of the accident?
I don’t know how you can judge a statement like that made from somebody in a paniced state of mind. Assuming he wasn’t intoxicated, couldn’t he have said something similar if he had fallen asleep or had been texting?
I’m just saying, your drawing conclusions from nothing.

Also
there is the fact he ran straight into an apartment. He knew it was an apartment and probably thought he seriously injured someone, which is probably why he exclaimed “I ruined my life”. But then again, I wasn’t there, so I’m not going make assumptions.
Using Kindle at MLB
When he has a real gift to create pressure from the edge would be ruining him. Texas did nothing but help him improve.

Where's the write-up
on all the Aggy first rounders?
Two teams can play each other head-to-head, and sportswriters still have to vote who they think is better.

I'm unsure
why this blog has such a personal vendetta against Kindle (mainly beergut). He really is a nice guy. On my 21st birthday, I happened to run into him at a bar downtown, and without ever have meeting him, went up and said hello and started chatting it up with him and Chykie Brown. They were both real nice, and didn’t brush me off like they were a level above me because they were football players. At the end, Kindle bought me a shot of crown once he heard it was my birthday, and almost crushed me like a tin can giving me a side birthday hug. He might have made a mistake driving drunk, and then another one crashing into that apartment buildng (which was right next to the one I lived in a the time, I have a picture on my cellphone I can post if no one ever saw the wreck). It is time to let it go, aggys. This is getting ridiculous.
It is amazing the lengths sips go to in order to remain in denial.
What gift for rushing the passer? There were probably 20 guys in this draft who had 8 sacks this year and most probably didn’t play next to Lamarr Houston.

I'm not sure
if you are replying to my post or just replying in general, because I never said he had a gift for rushing the passer. But he did wreak some havoc off the edge. I think the amazing this is the lengths aggys go to in order to deny the talent level of players who went to Texas. And if he makes a mistake, then they obsess over it. And to make it worse, when one of their players makes a worse mistake, the first thing they mention on commentary is the Texas player’s mistake. It just gets a little ridiculous, that’s all.
think miketag'd reply was to TheElusiveShadow
Kindle disappeared for most of year once he was moved to weakside DE. He stuggled to deal with opposing LTs. I didn’t pay attention to where he was aligned during the ’Bama game, but prior to that, I believe all of his sacks were from the strongside going up against a RT one-on-one.
I don’t see anyone denying Jordan Shipley’s talent level on here, nor has anyone said anything bad about Lamarr Houston or Brian Orakpo. If you’re a BMF, you get your due on here. The issue with Kindle is that texas fans keep clinging to this idea that he is a difference-maker when he was anything but in 2009.
As for his ‘mistake’, this is a rivalry, get used to people making fun of him for accomplishing the amazing feat of driving into a freaking building.
Agree with 95% of what you say
Obviously I don’t expect ags or sooners to not say anything, of course it is part of the rivalry just like you said. Just seems like this one instance keeps popping up more than others. IMO, if I were an aggy trying to jab at Texas, I would talk about Brandon Collins, someone who did something way worse than Kindle. Just saying that the Kindle stuff has become a little old.
The armed robbery
and carrying a firearm around. I can’t remember all of the details, but there may have been marijuana involved also.
