Aggie Baseball Thumps texas, 9-3, Finishes Pod Play Undefeated
The Aggies rode the strong pitching and an explosive offense to a 9-3 win over texas that wasn't as close as the score indivated. The Aggies scored runs in each of the first five innings, building up an 8-3 lead that would hold up for the duration. The Aggies added a run in the 7th for the final margin. Starting pitcher Clayton Ehlert pitched 7 strong innings, giving up 10 hits but only 3 earned runs on the day as he earned the win. Ehlert walked four and struck out seven. Shane Minks pitched no hit ball over the final two innings, striking out 3.
The Aggies chased Big 12 Pitcher of the Year Cole Green from the game; he lasted only 4 innings, giving up 9 hits and 7 earned runs while striking out 4. Reliever Brandon Workman was only slightly better, giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs in only 2 1/3 innings. The Aggie offense was led by Tyler Naquin (4-5, 2 dbls, HR, 3 RBIs), Matt Juengel (3-4, 2 HRs, 3 RBIs), and Brodie Greene (4-5, dbl, 2 RBIs). Today was Junegel's first multi-homer game of his career; it was also the first time an Aggie has accomplished that feat at the Big 12 Tournament. The Ags have homered in 8 consecutive games, 11 of the last 12, and has hit half of its home runs for the season (28 of 56) in the month of May; in other words, we have started to really pound the ball at the best possible time.
The Aggies face Baylor tomorrow at 1 PM in the Big 12 Tournament Championship Game, which will be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net.

Glad we did not use Stilson. We should have a relatively well rested bullpen for tomorrow. Always nice to beat the sips
