After hearing the news about the 'new' 10-team Big 12 Conference set to begin play in 2011, I thought I'd take a look at our prospective football schedule. I'm not sure where Iowa State and Kansas State will be placed on our 2011 schedule now that we'll be going to round-robin conference play, but there were tgree empty slots between the SMU game and the Arkansas game, and since I don't think we'll schedule a conference game in the second game of the season if we can help it, I placed them in those two slots. In any case, wow, I'm sure you're looking at this 2011 season schedule and really getting excited. Ryan Mallett, Blaine Gabbert, and Robert Griffin III will all be star senior QBs we'll see that season (assuming no one jumps early to the NFL), but we play Mallett at a neutral site, and Gabbert on the road, so Griffin is the only attraction who might bring people to watch him. $Bill needs to hope Bill Synder really has his Kansas State program humming in his third year, and Turner Gill hasn't built the perfect storm of disaster for a coaching staff that I think he has in Lawrence, because we're looking at a really poor home schedule otherwise. This new round-robin conference schedule may end up being a real loser at the ticket office for us, not to mention the issue of an uneven number of conference opponents, meaning you end up with five conference road games every other year. With our neutral site game with Arkansas, this means we'll have only six homes games in even-numbered years.
* I have no idea if we'll play Sam Houston State in 2011, this is just a guess as to who we'll use to fill out our non-conference slate.

Not to pit nick
but Colorado isnt beginning play in the Pac-11/12 until 2012. What do you think, from an A&M fan’s perspective, they will do for 2011 in this case. Each team plays 2 Non-Con and all ten of the other Con teams or still 3 and 9 with each team missing out on playing one of the others? Or maybe the Big 12-2 asks Colorado to leave early without any penalty(everyone knows that they cant afford that).
The "Big Bang" was actually a Will Muschamp chestbump......with the Earth!
not sure how we'll handle the schedule with Colorda, then
I think having 10 conference games that year is untenable; we already have two non-conference games scheduled in SMU and Arkansas.
There's been rumors that CU may jump earlier
so there’s that
Surgeon General's Warning: K-State-Mizzou basketball may increase the risk of high blood pressure. Please consult your doctor prior to watching any of these games.
I guess it could work out for the Horns
If CU were to hang around another year, UT has Nebraska on the sched and that could be changed to CU. However, I hope mystman995 is right in that CU may jump early. That would be the best way to go.

STOP BUYING TICKETS
Look- if you are mad about the lack of leadership at A&M then send them a message……….do not buy tickets to these crap ass games. I will say it again, if you want change then tell them NO. Tell your friends, family, anyone- do not buy season tickets. It is all about money…….that is how you get their attention.
Playing everyone in the conference
is how these things used to work. That’s a good part here.

I'd say it's a good guess
as y’all continue to make your way through the Southland Conference. Beware of the Lumberjacks this fall!
Sports is man's joke on God, You see, God says to man, 'I've created a universe where it seems like everything matters, where you'll have to grapple with life and death and in the end you'll die anyway, and it won't really matter.' So man says to God, 'Oh, yeah? Within your universe we're going to create a sub-universe called sports, one that absolutely doesn't matter, and we'll follow everything that happens in it as if it were life and death.'" - Sam Kellerman
