Texas A&M - #30 - Star power on offense....defense can't be any worse.

Unit Ranks (Nationally)

#3 Backfield

Not much QB Jerrod Johnson can't do. Said A&M LB Von Miller: "He can scramble, run you over, run around you, throw the deep ball, whatever you want." Johnson had six 300-yard passing games and, more often than not, ran for at least 50 yards. RB Christine Michael, who was the Big XII Offensive Freshman of the Year, and Cyrus Gray are two fine backfield options with 100-yard potential every game.

#9 WR Corps

Jeff Fuller is poised for a 1,000-yard season - like he had as a freshman in 2008 before a broken leg shortened his sophmore season. The Aggies have all kinds of depth, including backup QB Ryan Tannehill, who actually had a team-high 46 catches last season.

Pre Season All Americans

LB Von Miller (1st team)

Big XII Prediction - 4th

If the Aggies can stay healthy, they should be improved defensively and on special teams. And with so much star power on offense, A&M can light up the scoreboard. There are probably still too many questions to make a serious run at the Big XII South title, but a return to the final national rankings does seem possible.

if we can just have decent special teams

meaning we don’t give up punt or KO returns for TDs and we make FGs inside of 35 yds, we should win 2 more games

it's kind of a travesty

that Von Miler hasn’t made any magazine covers this preseason

True

But as good as he is, one player can’t make a whole defense the way one QB can. And then there’s the fact that ours was horrible.

rarely do you get a defensive player on the cover of preseason mags, though.

I doubt Suh was on any covers last year.

It was prolly McCoy, Bradford, and Robinson. At least, that’d be my guess.

Sam Acho is on there

and while he is phenomenal, he wasn’t as good as Von was last season

Very true.

Texas’ secondary might be the factor that sells the team this year, too.

Gilbert is still young, and Tre Newton hasn’t reached superstar potential, yet.

BTW – WTF is Acho doing, wearing 81 to begin with?

not sure I follow you?

Acho is a DE, #81 is an acceptable number for a DL.

in college, maybe.

not in the pro’s. It looks ridiculous. I feel like I’m watching the Cotton Bowl scene in “The Express”.
