Aggie Pitcher Barret Loux Sixth Pick Of 2010 MLB Draft
Aggie RHP Barret Loux is the sixth pick of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft, taken in the first round by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Loux is the first Aggie taken in the first round of the draft since Cliff Pennington was taken 21st by the Oakland A's in the 2005 draft.
As a junior, Loux is as good as gone; he led A&M this season as the staff ace, going 11-2 with a 2.60 ERA, and held opposing batters to a .197 average. Loux fanned 136 batters in 104 innings of work this season.
Right now, Loux and his teammates are waiting out the rain delay of the elimination game of the Coral Gables Regional, but regardless of the outcome of this game and this season, it will be fun watching Loux as he tries to achieve his dream of playing in the major leagues.
