Week 1 locks?

The game I like the most is the SMU-Tech game. I think the SMU offense will score a lot. I am not sure how well the Tech defense will play in a new scheme. Also, am not sure what the new Tech offense will look like. SMU +13.5 is my pick of the week. I actually think SMU will have a very good chance to win this game.

I like Clemson -23 over North Texas. I think Kyle Parcus is a decent QB and Clemson is an okay college offense. I am not confident in the UNT offense. Also, I think the UNT team will give up once Clemson gets up by a little. It all adds up to a blowout by Clemson.

I like Utah State +34 vs OU. I like the Utah State QB a lot. I think OU will score in the 30s. Utah State is used to playing top teams at their place and should not be intimidated. I am still not confident that OU's OL problems have been solved. Also, their defense lost a lot. I think 34 is too much.

ND has a first year coach at home with a defense that underachieved last year and a new QB with very limited experience. Purdue kept it within 3 last year. Purdue is perceived weak in the secondary, but then again so is ND. Purdue has one win in South Bend in the last 35 years. I see Purdue staying within the points on this one, but it could go over the total (55).
