Here it is, the final game of the 2011 season for your Texas Aggies. This is our last chance to end the season on a positive note with a win. Cyrus Gray is back and should see playing time, Jeff Fuller should be recovered from his hamstring issue, and Coryell Judie is hopefully at full strength. Today in Houston we'll get a chance to see a fully healthy Texas A&M team take on Northwestern, and hopefully see the team we knew we had the potential to be in the preseason. A win in the 2011 Texas Bowl would be a nice way to finish out this season, and get a positive start on 2012.

They're called the freaking Wonder Boys. We better win this game. Our team has disappointed a lot so far this season, but if we can't win our final non-conference game against a team called the Wonder Boys, why are we even playing this sport?

The Aggies play Rice tonight at 7:05 PM in a game that will be shown on Fox Sports Southwest. Rice is 7-4 on the season and unranked, while A&M is 8-2 and somehow still ranked at #22. This game presents a chance for us to show we are better than the pathetic performance we put on the court against Florida. If we struggle to beat Rice, I think it is clear we are going to be in for a long season.

Another game, another chance to show improvement.

Goal for this game: Offensive efficiency, improve FT shooting (please!!), and break 60 points on offense again, minimum.

Goals for this game:

1) Score more than 60 points. If we're going to be an aggressive offensive team that runs the floor, we need to start doing it now, in non-conference play.

2) Look like a top 25 team. Right now, our ranking is based more on potential than anything we've accomplished on the court, because we have yet to look like a team that deserves to be ranked in our last three games.

Show some semblance of offensive continuity that gives us hope for conference play. If we can run the floor and score in transition, that would be a plus.

We really need to see better execution on both sides of the ball, and effort from everyone than we did in our last game. SFA is 3-2 on the season, but if we play like we did against Alcorn State, they'll give us a game.

After a week off, the Aggies return to the court today to take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at Reed Arena at 3 PM. The main thing to keep an eye on for the Aggies will be how the offense develops without star Khris Middleton, who is still recovering from his knee surgery. Against St. John's, the Ags only scored 58 points in their win at Madison Square Garden. Granted, the game was slowed by the constant whistles of the officials, who gave St. John's a 38-3 free throw advantage over A&M, but the Ags still need to convert more opportunities into points.

We know what we have inside with Ray Turner, David Loubeau, and Kourtney Roberson, now we need to see if guards Jamal Branch and Elston Turner can combine to form an effective scoring duo and pose a consistent offensive threat. If we can add a consistent outside game to our inside game, we can become a very dangerous offensive team.
